About

Join us Sunday September 24 from 2 pm to 4 pm at Glen Morris United Church for an afternoon of performance, including audience participation, for all ages. With wonderful talent by community members from the beautiful village of Glen Morris and surrounding area, expect to see and hear Métis drumming and the art of drum making, the bagpipes and Highland dance by a Canadian champion dancer, Glen Morris United Church Choir and local vocalists, a children’s entertainer, basket weaving, pottery and local crafts people. Following the performances please take in the displays featuring local artisans as well as some interactive creative activities.

Please enjoy light snacks and hot and cold beverages following the performance. We welcome donations (cash or etransfer) to help us keep future ViBrant ARC events free to attend or participate in. Donations to Glen Morris United Church are also welcome.

This is a fully accessible event. Please bring your curiosity as we're certain to leave you feeling inspired. We encourage you to please take some time to introduce yourself to someone you don't know. Community is built on conversation; arts and culture are a means to keep conversation and community ViBrant!

ViBrant ARC: Art Reconnecting Community

ViBrant ARC (Art Reconnecting Community) is a grassroots arts and cultural group that gathers together curious people, explores artful ideas, nurtures culture and encourages conversation. It is our desire to help facilitate and encourage citizen-led/organized community events that will fulfill this vision.

ViBrant ARC acknowledges that with the continued kindness and wisdom of the Six Nations people of the Grand River we are able to share and grow with this beautiful land along the Grand River.

For the past year, our group has been organizing free monthly artist talks called Salon ARC. We invite an artist to give a 30-minute talk to share their story of what inspires them to be the creative soul that they are. We engage the artist in a Q&A and then we encourage the attendees to introduce themself to someone they don't know that has been curious to come out for the talk.

We have also organized free creative workshops: poetry, miniature clay sculpture and origami. Our group also worked with community members to build 4 Free Little Art Galleries which are free to a community member in the Brantford, Brant County and Six Nations community.

We are actively working as well to have community indoor and outdoor murals created.

We welcome donations to help us to continue to provide free accessible events throughout the communities of Brantford, Brant County and Six Nations of the Grand River.
